First Week - 30.0.15

Was this all-black, full of attitude look acceptable for my first day at uni? The boots say probably not.
Jumper/Top - New Look
Jeans - Pull&Bear
Boots - H&M

This week started with my first day at university and as fresher it's a little daunting to say the least. A flood of different faces to get to know to and a new social play ground to feel your way around, I'd be lying if I said it was a breeze. Especially, if you're anything like me and you're generally quite an awkward person, being put into multiple situations where you don't know a soul is a little nervy. But if I have learnt anything at all this weeks it's that everyone, literally everyone, is feeling the same way. As freshers we're all in the same boat, feeling the same things, if I'm feeling awkward guaranteed at least half the room is feeling awkward too. Because essentially we're all the same, no matter our backgrounds or home towns we're all human and we can understand and sympathise with one another because we know what it feels like.

And right now it feels like I'm seeing everyone around me in black and white, an outline that hasn't been filled in. No ones coloured yet because I'm only just starting to know them, to understand and to colour them, with feelings, memories, stories and experiences.

Everyday - 25.9.15

Sunglasses - Prada
Shirt - H&M
Jeans - Pull&Bear (similar)
Shoes - Zara
Bag - Primark

Yesterday was finally my last day of the summer break, 3 months away from anything is far too long. If i had to describe how I'm feeling about starting uni on Monday I'm sure it would be a mess of words but nervous and excited are some of them for sure. Speaking of, for my first little project I was asked to style and photograph my favourite outfit, (which shouldn't have been a biggie but I get so nervous with 'summer' projects, I'm always convinced I'm doing it wrong.

Anyway I decided to keep it simple and photograph my 'everyday look', you know the outfit you throw on when you can't find anything else to wear? Well this is mine, a classic day-to-day that you can never go wrong with plus it makes me feel a little more important than I actually am, which is a bonus. Add my trusty jacket (which literally goes everywhere with me), a big old bag to carry all my books, my shiniest shoes (from this post), a pair of sunnies and I'm ready to go.

If you had to choose, what would be your favourite look?

Fortnightly Round-Up #1 - 20.9.15

Picture orginally from tumblr.

Yay for sunday and a new week that is just round the corner. Luckily I managed to get my sunday off work so I'm spending the day chilling with my family and catching up with things. This weeks been pretty up and down for me, so I'm pretty glad its coming to an end but like the weather today my mood is bright and chilled. So here's my fortnightly round up of articles I've found interesting, new music I'm loving and general links I've found myself on. Let me know what you think!

1. Ashley Graham and a small army of 'plus-size' models walked at New York Fashion Week (here) and I'm so happy about it.

2. This scarily accurate quiz which guesses your tast in men based on your tast in cheese - what what?!

3. For some reason I'm loving this little chalkboard you strap to your wrist, handy little doodle board taking anyone?

4. I'm still so in love with this jacket, after seeing it on Chloe from The Little Plum a few weeks back.

5. I totally cannot stop laughing at this vine round up on BuzzFeed, brilliant for those low days.

6. This post over at World Of Wanderlust, is really making me want to go to Paris and drink a ton of hot chocolate.

7. A little DIY is perfect for a last minute gift and I'm loving this idea, I'll be using it for sure!

This fortnight has been all about them albums for me, so many albums, it's been a good time for music. So here's a round up of what I've been listening to:

Bring Me The Horizon - That's the Spirit
Halsey - Badlands
Nate Ruess - Grand Romantic
Shawn Mendes - Handwritten
Melanie Martinez - Cry Baby

|| Let me know what you think of this round-up, like is it relevant? Do you like my music choices? Also what do you think of this new segment on the blog? Happy Sundays guys! ||

I Got A Tattoo! - 15.9.15

Thanks to Luci at Angelic Hell Brighton for inking me!

So  got a little tattoo back in July and I've had this post sitting in my drafts since then debating whether to share it or not. It's something I've wanted since I was about 16, the design changed a couple times admittedly but i kept coming back to the shapes. Lets be fair, sometimes its better to keep it simple rather than trying to come up with a intricately detailed design that incorporates loads of things and meanings, its gets confusing right?

So, the meaning, each shape represents something different, something I've had to face and overcome, something that's affected me in life generally. It's to symbolise what I've been through and the struggle I've had to overcome but also it symbolises that I've beat it and I'm stronger for it, without going through those things I wouldn't be, well, me. It feels like, without sounding to cheesy, I'm ending that chapter, I'm saying 'yeah i've dealt with some shit but its time to move on, don't dwell on it let's start a new chapter'

A tattoo was the right way for me to move on, acknowledge I've been through it but start a new. University starts for me in 10 days so I'm feeling the pressure but I'm also feeling like the future, my future, is literally just ahead of me and it's so exciting. That'd probably why I'm sharing this with you now, the final sentence in this chapter before I turn the page. Exciting!

Back To School Vibes - 9.9.15

|| Top - H&M || Skirt - Topshop via Depop || Bag - Miss Selfridge (Similar) ||

Hey hey, it's been a while! Clearly I missed the summer somehow because I'm already back in my trusty leather, although the sun seems to be out in force today (I'm a little lost with it all tbh). Secretly I'm super excited to ditch my summer wardrobe and cosy up in layers and long sleeves. Fall has always been my favourite season, there's something about the shorter days, cosier nights and new beginnings. Maybe its not quite autumn yet, everyone's still clinging onto summer, but in my mind I'm already there, bring on chilly mornings, pumpkin lattes and back to school vibes.

I grabbed this liitle gem of a skirt off depop (hallelujah for second hand) which I've been pretty stuck to for a couple months now. Depop is mainly second hand but there's also lots of little boutiques and sellers trying to start a business or whatever and I think its important to support them too. So here are my favourites - Kolea Designs, Little Deer and Liz Rowland.

Must Have's: Chunky Knits

Pictures via Pinterest

Similar styles - 1/2/3/4/5/6

Okay, so I know this is a key piece for every fall but I realised yesterday, when I was trying to put a decent transitional outfit together, that I literally have no chunky knits in my wardrobe! At all!
My style has changed so much over the last 18 months and I have to admit that this time last year I was servilely opposed to knits and any sort of coat which is probably the reason my wardrobe is lacking any. But this season nothing can stop me, I'll be getting my hands on a couple of pieces for sure and I seriously can't wait for chilly evenings, chunky knits and trashy weekend tv!
